NSF International is an independent, not-for-profit public health organization that helps consumers by maintaining standards for food, water, and consumer goods as well as certifying products according to those standards.

The eSpring™ Water Purifier has been certified by NSF International for all of its components to meet various major water quality standards, including Standard 42, 53, 55 and 401. NSF is an accredited international institution for water and food safety. It has been appointed by the WHO as a cooperation centre to help oversee the accreditation of the world’s water purifiers.

Standard 42 - Aesthetic effects

  • Tests the systems’ ability to reduce drinking water contaminants that affect taste, odour and clarity

Standard 53 - Hygienic Quality

  • Tests the ability of system to remove harmful contaminants in drinking water, including lead, mercury, VOCs, pesticide, trihalomethanes, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonic (PFOS), microcystins, etc.

Standard 55 - Ultraviolet microbiological water treatment

  • Certifies systems that use ultraviolet light to reduce bacteria and other micro-organisms in drinking water

Standard 401 - Emerging Contaminants Certification

  • Tests systems’ ability to remove 15 emerging contaminants from drinking water, such as drugs, herbicides, pesticides and other chemical compounds

The eSpring Water System is also certified by NSF for reduction of more individual contaminants than any other carbon-based UV filtration system.

Independently tested, the eSpring Water System effectively reduces over 160 potential health-effect contaminants and with a UV dose of 40 mJ/cm2 is capable of destroying 99.9% of disease-causing microorganisms.
